It is hands-down the best pita bread you will ever have. Period. • Muhammara: Distinct, nutty, and delicious. Another "must-try" for the table! • Black Hummus: A very unique dish! ⚠️ Pro-tip for my Veggie friends: The fried element is actually fish, so it’s not vegetarian. We came here for Valentine’s Day and had an amazing experience from start to finish. The food was incredible every dish was full of flavor and beautifully presented. The desserts were just as memorable, and the hospitality was truly special. The owners were so welcoming, kind, and down to earth, which made the experience even more meaningful. We tried this place for the first time a couple of weeks ago. It was really lovely. The service is fast, professional, and friendly. We shared a bunch of dishes, and really liked everything we got. I think the standout was the green hummus. I can't remember what's in it, but it was absolutely delicious. Paired with their housemade pita bread, I could eat that everyday!!! I also had a cocktail that was delicious.
My wife and I had an amazing dinner (feast) here last weekend. Everything from the ambiance to the food and service was 10/10. It’s now one of our favorite restaurants on the peninsula. Perfect date night spot! Will definitely be back.

Absolutely delightful restaurant! The food was AMAZING. So much flavor, and the portions are very generous. The pulled lamb and poached egg had so much flavor between the meat, sauces, and egg with sourdough toast and arugula, it really was just divine. The Amara omelette was also so tasty and had so much flavor. The seating is so so beautiful. There is both indoor and outdoor/garden seating available. The indoor seating has a ton of beautiful natural light with sky lights that let sunlight in, and the outdoor seating is in a cute garden with a small water bridge. Would definitely come back and highly recommend!
⭐️A Michelin Star Experience Thats Comfortable! Amara is ahead of all other dining experiences along the peninsula. There’s nothing quite like the beautiful Mediterranean cozy vibe of the interior, then opening up into the vibrant and green garden alongside the restaurant. The food was absolutely amazing and the chicken and rack of lamb is to DIE for!!! The staff were so accommodating and detailed with their knowledge of the menu. While Amara is a fine dining experience, it has a very cozy and at home atmosphere with people laughing and smiling openly. The furthest from any pretentious feeling you might get at a Michelin star restaurant, however the food quality and presentation is that Michelin star level. Every member of the party left full and with a smile on their face! PLEASE make sure to check out this hidden gem in Belmont/San Mateo.
Dining at Amara was a wonderful experience. It is such a pleasure to have a place in our town where you can enjoy such delicious food. Every single bite was a delight for the taste buds. The ambiance and décor have been beautifully designed, and the outdoor seating area creates a fresh, natural, and green environment. Simply looking outside is a pleasure in itself. I would also like to mention that the staff is friendly, attentive, and accommodating, making the experience even more enjoyable. Congratulations to the chef for creating such memorable dishes. One small suggestion would be to add a little more sauce to the broccoli dish, as it would complement the vegetables nicely and enhance their flavor. The hanger steak, a real highlight, was exceptionally tender and perfectly seasoned. It was beautifully complemented by a thoughtful selection of toppings that brought an original touch of lemon zest, creating a flavor combination that was both surprising and delightful. The reinvented baklava dessert was refreshing, creative, and absolutely a delight, providing the perfect ending to the meal ! We will definitely be coming back to enjoy more of your menu and to try the other desserts.
